The Carlton County Sheriff's Department has identified the injured victim of a hit and run Sunday morning.  The victim, 43-year-old Michael Howard Norton, was hit while riding his bike at the intersection of Highway 61 and Rolling Road in Thompson Township. With the public's help, they were also able locate and arrest the suspected driver of the car.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Department needs your help finding the driver who hit a bicyclist Sunday morning.  The driver is believed to be an elderly woman.

After the flooding in the Northland last year, Highway 210 in Carlton County suffered a lot of damage.  The repairs have officially begun. KBJR-TV reports that MNDOT officials say the $2.9 million project will realign and reconstruct half a mile of highway along 210 through Jay Cooke State Park...

Nobody should have to choose between pants and gas or worse, food and gas.  However, with gas prices over four dollars a gallon it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage our budgets while keeping gas in our vehicles.  There is new legislation that may prevent this in the future.

It's been 26 years since the last Minnesota tax hike on alcohol, but if state lawmakers have their way there will be another one soon to help make up for the state's budget deficit.
