Cold and windy conditions and ice still covering many Minnesota lakes made fishing opener an uneventful day for many anglers. While ice hampered fishing plans, it also damaged buildings along the shore of Lake Mille Lacs.
After a few days of warmer than normal temperatures, things are about to get icy and very cold for the Twin Ports.
January 10, 2013 It's been a pretty mild week, with the warmest day potentially Thursday. Thursday will start nice and sunny, with a hi temp near 40 degrees before a potential rain and ice event hits Thursday night into Friday and then changes to snow. With warm temps comes an increased danger of going out onto the ice. A safe spot you were fishing on on one day could turn into a danger zone the next.
February 1, 2012 Maybe the MN Wild should look into signing Alfa Romero's newest ice star; The Giulietta. In has some fancy all wheel drive traction system so it does pretty well on ice.
