Three fires in West Duluth this morning have Twin Ports authorities beginning to suspect a serial arsonist is hitting targets in Duluth and Superior. This morning's blazes add to a list of arson fires in the Twin Ports that has grown to nine since March.
May 17, 2012 Thursday started a scary chain of events for the city of Ely as a fire erupted nearby around 1:30pm. It appears that the fire started due to a spark from a downed power line. There was anticipation that an evacuation in Ely may be coming, but there is some good news on that front.

February 8, 2012 This last weekend, there was enough snow on the ground at my cabin to safely have this fire. We had a pine tree that had fallen down on the road. When you are logging, you have to "limb" the tree. (As in take of the branches).

The investigation into the Lester Park Elementary School playground fire has been completed by authorities. Findings show the incident was indeed arson, as many locals suspected since news broke over the weekend.
