Big Weekend Storm Possible

It may not exactly be the Mega Storm, but compared to the tame winter we've had this could provide some fun.  I may actually get to use my snow blower!  It's always easier to get snow this time of year than in the Fall because we know it won't be here for months on end.

Most people remember Martin Luther King Jr as the man that lead the peaceful march of 250,000 people in  Washington, D.C., then delivered his address, "l Have a Dream".   At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. He turned the prize money for winning the award, over $50,000 over to his cause.

Duluth native Lisa Berg has taken a personal love of soccer and turned it into an opportunity to positively impact the lives of others. Berg grew up playing soccer in the Northland, and eventually took her talents to the field at the  University of Minnesota. In her experiences playing at the U of M, Berg met some individuals who inspired her to pursue a growing interest in helping young women in Africa get introduced to soccer; something that has long been held as off-limits for women in many parts of the continent.

Recent Rash of Local Burglaries Prompts Police To Give Prevention Tips: Get Them Here

The Duluth Police Department has seen a recent increase in day time residential burglaries in the Duluth and Hermantown areas. Most of the homes burglarized had doors that were left unlocked.  They say the items taken most often stolen were jewelry and electronics.  Police say their investigation has resulted in some arrests, thankfully, and they are continuing to monitor the situation.  They also provided some helpful tips to make your home and family safer.
