April 11, 2013 About a month ago I blogged that the Duluth Public Library was looking for volunteers to restart their Home Delivery Service. . Thanks to those that stepped up to the plate, the Service is about to begin and those who wish to use it need to apply now.
March 21, 2013 Remember when the bookmobile use to come to your neighborhood? Ok, well...I don't. We didn't have that service in the rural area of Wrenshall when I was growing up. But, I did ride my bike to the Carlton Public Library in the summer, I loved reading! The Duluth Public Library is starting a service reminiscent of the bookmobile, but will use volunteers delivering to shut-ins. What a great idea!

November 1, 2012 After I heard about the special showing of "You'll Like My Mother" at the Duluth Library, I looked it up. The movie is interesting because it was filmed in Duluth at the Glensheen Mansion. I spend most of movie watching the backgrounds in the scenes to see what was familiar. I am half Filipino and half Irish, quite the combination, I know. When I was younger, I heard my mom and my aunt on my dad's side talk about my relatives in the Philippines and Ireland, but at that young age, I didn't have the desire to seek them out. Both my mom and aunt have passed, and I thought searching for past members of my family would be impossible, until I saw the Family History Workshop. Here's your invite!
October 2, 2012 You will soon find a new exhibit at the Main Library in Duluth that young will enjoy and will allow the not-so-young to return to their childhood. The Duluth Public Library, along with the Duluth Children’s Museum, is excited to announce Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites. (Volunteers are needed to help with the exhibit, see below).
