I got out of my car at the grocery store last Saturday and ran into some friends in the parking lot.  They said, "Hey, we just saw you on the cover of a magazine in there".  We shot the photography for the magazine they spoke of with Jeff Peabody some time ago so I was puzzled.

Lap dog alert!  If you've been patiently waiting for a small dog to adopt from Animal Allies, this is your (and Coco's) lucky day!  Our Animal Allies Pet of the Week is a tan Chihuahua mix weighing just over 9lbs.

He may be a gentle giant, but this one year old Great Dane named Bruce Wayne is actually a bit shy, but once he warms up to you he will be your loyal companion for life. He is primarily black but does have some white accents and is looking for his forever home.

Today we talked to Daryl at Animal Allies about Crackle, and this Jack Russell Terrier is looking for a home for the holidays.  He's a recent transfer from another shelter, and this 7 month old pup would love for you to visit him at the shelter and get to know him.

Wow, the City of Duluth is on top of it this year.  While on their website I noticed that you can already go online and get your pet licensed for 2017.  I've lived in the country most of my life, so moving to Duluth was a culture shock where pets are concerned.  My dog is now on a leash in the yard for safety concerns, his and that of people passing by.  Before you get busier with holiday festivit

Shy, but lovable, that's what Cooper our Animal Allies Pet of the Week is.  Once Cooper warms up to you she is a energetic dog that wants to play.  Cooper is a 4 year old black Labrador Retriever/Siberian Husky Mix hoping to be in his forever home before Christmas.

Please excuse my rant, but we are very lucky in the Northland to have several dog parks, nature trails and the Lakewalk to exercise our pets.  It amazes me that so many pet owners either don't take pride in our scenic beauty or care about keeping it nice for others.  This past weekend I found this, which is impressive for the dog's aim, but not impressive that it was left there by the owner for me

This little bundle of love is Ms. Abigail and is a 4 year old brown brindle American Staffordshire Terrier.  Ms. Abigail is a smart girl that knows commands for sit, stay, up and down, go to bed, and go outside. How cute is that?  Our Animal Allies Pet of the Week is spayed and looking for her human BFF.

Want a dog that will play with you?  Because Freddy is a dog that wants a human that will play with him!  Our Animal Allies Pet of the Week is Freddy, a tan and white Labrador mix who is already neutered and looking for his forever home.

I grew up in the country, the whole world was my dog's "park".  It wasn't until I moved to the city and saw the smaller yards that I understood the need for dog parks.  The first dog park in Duluth was introduced in 2004, the next in 2011, now we have a third on Riley Road.  The dog parks well be closed temporarily while they're cleaned and maintained this week.

This American Staffordshire Terrier's name is somewhat misleading.  Honey Bear is actually a very confident and a little stubborn dog.  His forever companion will need patience and time to train.
