Eric Church and Dierks Bentley are just two of more than a dozen artists slated to pay tribute to Levon Helm with ‘Love for Levon,’ a star-studded benefit concert that will help support the eternal legacy of the late musician by allowing his estate keep ownership of his home, barn and studio, and to continue the Midnight Ramble Sessions.
EPs are often like movie sequels in that they often feel like a ploy to make a few dollars instead of a chance for an artist to expand upon a theme. Much like ‘Empire Strikes Back,’ and more recently, ‘Toy Story 2′, Dierks Bentley‘s ‘Country and Cold Cans’ proves to be an exception.
As fall approaches, Dierks Bentley begins readying his annual Miles and Music for Kids charity motorcycle ride and concert event. This year’s event is set for Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Nashville, and Bentley will be accompanied by some of his famous pals, including Brantley Gilbert, Chris Young, Sheryl Crow, the Cadillac Black and Craig Campbell.
Dierks Bentley has done something interesting with his new single ‘Tip It on Back’ from the ‘Home’ album. The singer marries the spirit of songs like ‘Free and Easy’ — and more recently, ‘Am I the Only One’ — with the sexy pace of his most famous ballads (think ‘Come a Little Closer’ and ‘Feel That Fire’).
In just a few weeks, Dierks Bentley will raise a glass to his fans when he debuts his four-track ‘Country & Cold Cans’ EP. The disc — which was inspired by the popular title track and the wild and crazy concertgoers who supported Bentley’s 2012 tour of the same name — is slated to hit shelves in late August.
Even if you’re not a fan of Showtime’s hit series, ‘Weeds,’ you’re probably familiar with its theme song, ‘Little Boxes.’ Even hearing a few bars of the little ditty will have you humming the tune all day long. During ‘Weeds” second and third seasons, a number of artists covered the catchy tune for the show. Now, it’s about to become even more of an earworm since Dierks Bentley has agreed to record a country version of the song for the series’ eighth season!
Music isn’t the only thing Dierks Bentley is creating these days. The ’5-1-5-0′ singer is set to release a special Dierks Bentley Custom Signature Edition guitar, which will be made available to the public later this month.
Having been in country radio for quite a while now, I've had a chance to see most of these acts and can tell you what to expect from this year's Country Fest. There's still a chance for you to win tickets too, keep reading for details.
Dierks Bentley‘s father, Leon Bentley, died on Friday, June 1. The singer was forced to cancel shows beforehand, and in the wake of his dad’s death, tweeted the news to fans, thanking them for their support. He also took a moment to reflect on the fact that his father was his biggest influence in country music, since his dad’s listening habits turned him onto the genre as a young kid.
Dierks Bentley (and all of the extras) get down and dirty in his video for ’5-1-5-0,’ the latest single from ‘Home.’ It features four wheelers, all-terrain vehicles and monster trucks being driven in a mud ditch, being chased by the very po po that Bentley sings about in the song’s chorus! Even with the cops on their tail, the riders are enjoying themselves.
