President Larry Goodwin has been with the College of St. Scholastica for years and he has announced that he will be retiring in 2016.  He is the longest-serving president in the history of St. Scholastica and achieved double enrollment during his tenure.  But, I have a personal thank you for something much bigger that involved the community.

Thanksgiving Day Buffet Celebrates 25th Anniversary With #Give25More

I have had the honor of being on the Thanksgiving Day Buffet committee for 17 of the 25 years of it's existence. It started back in 1989 in Superior and has since moved to the DECC and serves 6,500 delicious meals.  It takes hundreds of volunteers to make it happen and on this historic year we're asking for 25 more.  I'll explain....

Here's  a way for you to save time AND help feed the needy in the Northland. It's become a yearly tradition that the First United Methodist Church members and students from the College of St. Scholastica join forces and make lots and lots of pies to sell with the proceeds going to CHUM.  It happens today, so set a reminder on your phone or put a postie note on your computer to stop by and pick a few up!
