My weekend was both exciting and frustrating, but thanks to two communities, I kept my cool!  However, the B105 van didn't...it was an adventure up the shore and there are some people that came to my rescue!

I am Cathy Kates and I am addicted to cake.  I L O V E cake!!!  While on vacation recently we drove past this store while in the truck traveling to a friend's house.  I told my husband Homie, "we're definitely going there!!!"  But, when we came back through, it was closed.  I made sure to put it on the agenda for the next day, but what we encountered, I was NOT expecting!

We've kind of stumbled on a new series of us struggling with daily tasks here on The Breakfast Club.  A couple of weeks ago I had an epic battle with a Slim Jim.  Now Cathy has her hands full trying to get her new headphones out of a package.

While doing some spring cleaning in the storage room at the radio station, a priceless old video of the B105 staff was discovered. From the sound of it, this was an old promotional video for a TV series that David Drew and Cathy Kates were co-producing for air in the Twin Ports -- unfortunately, the show never got off the ground.

With our Baconpalooza coming up I had bacon on the brain.  I thought I would share a easy DIY bacon recipe with you that looks like it was hard to make, but you'll be surprised.  Because of my ethnicity, teriyaki sauce is used in my kitchen often and compliments the bacon while enjoying the crisp water chestnut.  Plus, step by step instructions in my tutorial.  Why wouldn't you make it!

Ken Hayes and Cathy Kates, the B105 Breakfast Club, have been together longer than any other morning show in the Northland.  To celebrate that as well as their tremendous success, they will soon grace billboards across the the area. In an ongoing attempt to teach Cathy vital geography, we practiced this morning with flashcards.  It was simple, she needed to identify the state or region.   Or, at least it was supposed to be simple.

Here we are, days away from saying goodbye to 2013. It's been an interesting year, with lots of memorable stories we've all shared. Some of these stories are sad and some are happy, others are touching, and some are just plain goofy. We've taken a little time to see what your favorite stories of the year have been...

The year 2013 was a good one for Cathy and myself.   We had a lot of laugh's and continue to chuckle about these segments looking back.  We've had a good amount of people reach out and ask for us to post some of the audio.   Here are some of our most requested.

Every year I am grateful for people that come into my life, the ability to attend amazing events and that I have the opportunity for a little downtime and fun with my family. It's hard to narrow them down to just five, but as I look back at 2013 these are some of my favorites.  Even the simplest of time spent with family should be considered a highlight.  Hopefully this blog helps you ponder your
