We were wandering around the Duluth Boat, Sport and Travel Show this year and came upon Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel's show already in progress.  While we were watching, Twiggy decided she had had enough and hopped the side of the pool...

I woke up this morning and melted while watching this video shared on YouTube by Symbio Zoo.  I have asked my husband for a pony, monkey, another puppy among other mammals.  Guess who got a text asking if we could get a koala bear after watching this video?  If this doesn't make you grin and coo at your screen, I don't know what would!

Kids are off from school and you're looking for something to do.  Has it been a while since you've visited your ole' friends at the Lake Superior Zoo?  I know for a fact that they'd LOVE to see you!  Check out the Schools Out Special available this week.

My mother use to bring me to what I consider a true circus experience when I was young.  It was in Cloquet and under an actual big top tent that the elephants helped to raise.  I've seen the circus at the DECC several times and while it's entertaining, it somehow lacks the enchantment of being under a tent.

I can honestly say I've only witnessed a live moose in the wild once in my life.  It was just outside of Remer, MN on our way back from Walker.  He was standing in the ditch near the road lazily chewing his cud not really caring that we had stopped to gawk at him.  I guess we were gawking because you just don't see that animal out in their natural habitat very often.

My daughter had sent me this video and normally I'm a puppy lover, but I was intrigued.  I teared up watching this video and my heart melted for the little guy. God Bless the family that took him in and spent time making sure he will lead a good life.

LOOK AT THAT FACE!  Adorbs!  Not one, but TWO sets of lemur twins were born this past summer at the Lake Superior Zoo's Primate Conservation Center!  The first set was a male and a female born on May 31.  The second set were both female born on June 29.  The staff at the zoo have come up with a fun way to name the babies and help biodiversity in Madagascar!

It's a little early, but I wanted to give you time to come up with an awesome costume that your kids will love and passes the safe-to-wear factor!   At least parents can feel comfortable that there is a safe SUPER fun place to trick or treat, at the Lake Superior Zoo's Boo at the Zoo!  Hurry, it's coming soon!

I saw this video shared on Facebook and it made me giggle.  I watched it again and giggled again and again.  Animals crack me up, they are literally human!  In their actions and emotions.  They show happiness with a tail-wag and remorse or embarrassment by hiding under the kitchen table when you're mad or like this racoon, they know they're being sneaky and look around to make sure no one is watch

The opening day for the deer archery season begins Saturday, September 13th!  Deer population is much lower this year in many parts of the state, so be sure to check your regulation handbook.  One big change this year is the amount of "Bucks only Harvest Areas."

I had a chance today to talk with Jeff Musial about his tour and his show that he's bringing to the College of St. Scholastica on September 19th. One of the questions I asked him was, "People often wonder if you and Jimmy Fallon get along."
