Superior Spartans Boys Hockey Faces Fond Du Lac in First Round of Wisconsin State Tournament
The Superior Spartans are no strangers to the Wisconsin State Boys Hockey Tournament, having made the trip to Madison 35 times. This year’s appearance marks the team’s 11th in 12 seasons.
Last year’s trip to State ended in the first round, falling 5-1 to Notre Dame Academy, who would eventually go on to win the championship. This year, the Spartans face the Fond du Lac Cardinals in the first round. Superior beat the Cardinals 3-1 on January 27 in their only regular season matchup.
The puck drops tonight at 8:15 pm for the first round game. The winner will go on to face the winner of a 6:00 pm matchup between Whitefish Bay and Eau Claire Memorial tomorrow at 8:15 pm at Aliant Energy Center in Madison.
