Superior Police Department Warns Citizens About False Verizon Scam E-mails

Verizon Wireless alerted the Superior Police Department about a string of malicious e-mails targeting people and businesses.
The e-mail is well crafted, and says, “You’re $900 bill is ready for payment.” Then you follow and click on the link and it downloads malicious software to your computer. The e-mail looks authentic and identical to Verizon’s own e-mails they do send out. For the time being, if you have a question about your account, you should go directly to www.verizon.com. Do not click any links in the e-mail, or call any phone numbers that may be listed in the e-mail.
For more information on this, you can visit the Superior Police Department’s Facebook Page.
