Superior Police announced today that they have arrested a suspect in connection with recent complaints of a male following, and in some cases grabbing the buttocks of female pedestrians on or around the UWS campus.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late 20's with a long brown beard wearing a stocking hat and a black jacket riding a orange or red bike.

It sounds like good police work may have solved this case; police officers recalled similar incidents from early 2012 in which female pedestrians on the Osaugie Trail were assaulted in an identical manner.

In that case, 28 year old John Frank Young was arrested and convicted of 4th Degree Sexual Assault.

In the past month Superior Police made contact with Young at an apartment near the UWS campus, officers also spotted him wearing similar clothes and riding a similar bike as the suspect around the campus and eventually arrested him around 12:30 this afternoon.

Young is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail on 2 counts of 4th Degree Sexual Assault, which is punishable by up to 9 months imprisonment or a fine not to exceed $10,000.00. He was also charged with one count of Stalking, which is punishable by up to 3 years and six months imprisonment or a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.

The Superior Police Department is requesting that anyone, who may have been subject to a similar assault, to contact the department.
