Superior City Council Meeting to Discuss Possible Garbage Fees for Residents and Businesses
Superior is one of the few cities that offers “free” garbage service to it’s residents. Or at least, it DID. There is a special city council meeting tonight following the regular meeting to discuss the landfill options in Superior.
The city hired a consultant to go over the economic viability of Moccasin Mike Landfill and go over proposed changes. According to the consultant, the city will be operating at a $2.1 million deficit because of the landfill costs.
The company Leidos has proposed that rates be charged to Superior residents and businesses. The monthly rate for residents would be $16.31. For businesses that use front load garbage services, it would be $22.10 per pick up. 1 pick up per week would add up to a monthly fee of $88.40.
