The Superior Spartans Boys Hockey Team to a 6-0 win over Wausau West for the 2015 WIAA Boys Hockey Championship.

As the Spartans returned to the championship for the first time since 2007, they got things cooking early. Troy Schold and Beau Reder gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead early in the first period of play, and they wouldn't look back from there. Schold found the net again in the second period, along with Tyler Nystrom and Caden Tchop, giving Superior the 5-0 lead heading into the third period. Preston Michaud posted a goal at the 13:59 mark in the final period to kick the 6-goal running time rule in and eventually go on to beat Wausau West 6-0.

Peyton Flanders went 19 of 19 on saves for the Spartans, helping the squad to the shutout.

The shutout win over Wausau West gives the Spartans their 13th WIAA Boys Hockey Championship title. Their other wins came in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1981, 1982, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2003 and 2005.
