Strange Booms Heard At Night Throughout Superior In Recent Weeks

Ok, so maybe I am not crazy.  I live in Superior, and there have been several times in the last few nights that I have heard a strange boom outside in the evening.  The other day I swore it was thunder.  Another day it sounded like a bomb went off.  BUT! I'm not the only one who has been hearing these noises.

I've been seeing posts in social media of residents asking what the noise was, or if anybody had any explanations.

One rumor is that there are trouble kids making home made explosives and detonating them.   Another is that the cold weather allows sound to travel further, and it could simply be train cars hooking up on the many rails in town.

Experimental aircraft flying over head, aliens, and geological activity rumors have also been flying around.

Whatever it may be, it certainly is unsettling.
