Stay-At-Home Moms + Working Moms = Stress
Apparently, the grass is NOT greener on the other side. Speaking from experience, even though I am fully aware that I have another whole set of responsibilities when I leave work for the day, I wouldn't....couldn't.....not have a job. I love my job, I love talking to people and I think it makes me whole and able to attend to my other responsibilities with a smile! It's stressful, but worth it...but NYDailynews.com reports, that's not what other women say in a survey....
A new study shows that when it comes to balancing work with kids and other responsibilities, a majority of moms feel overwhelmed, NBC's "Today" show reported.
According to a survey of 1,200 mothers by thebump.com and Forbes Woman, 92% of working moms said that their jobs don't end once they leave the office. They report feeling stressed out when it comes to juggling home and work duties.
A whopping 89% of stay-at-home moms also reported feeling overwhelmed by their responsibilities -- and that their partners offer little relief when it comes to helping out. Almost 85% said they didn't get a break when their partner comes home from work, and 50% said they never get a break from parenting at all -- though 96% said their partner gets time off.
Both at-home moms and working moms said they felt resentment about their unbalanced burden of responsibilities, and a third said they feel their partner could do more to help out around home. Women from both groups reported feeling like a "married single mom" even while having a partner around.
