Service Learning Award Goes To Harriet Beacher Stowe Elementary

Yesterday, Cathy Kates and I drove out to Gary New Duluth to visit with Jill and deliver a $200 Service Learning Northland check from maurices.

5th grade elementary students at Harriet Beacher Stowe are participating in various science experiments in the after school science club.  They will get to show off these experiments in the Stowe Elementary School's Environmental Resource Fair.

They'll also be producing a short video increasing awareness of recycling and wast reduction designed to educate fellow students about living an environmentally sustainable lifestyle.  The video will be shown at the Elementary school for Global Youth Service Day.
