If you're like most people, after eating your Thanksgiving meal, you are almost unable to drag your overstuffed body from the dining table to the couch.  You feel stuffed, guilty and vow that you'll start your diet and lose weigh running around on Black Friday.  How about doing a little running BEFORE you sit down to that meal feeling a bit more healthy and a little less guilty.  Run the Gobble Gallop!

The race date is easy to remember. Thanksgiving day, Thursday November 22nd.  The race is called the Gobble Gallop and is held in Downtown Duluth.

There are four races with the first to begin at 9a.  All four races start and finish on London Road near 13th Avenue East. The race routes run West on London Road, onto Superior Street, to 5th Avenue West and back.

Motorists should use caution in the following areas due the excess of pedestrians and be aware that London Road will be closed from 10th Ave E to 13th Ave E. Superior Street will be closed from 5th Ave W to 10th Ave E.

Superior Street east bound traffic will be detoured up to 2nd Street to continue east. West bound traffic will be sent up 10th Ave E to 1st Street to continue west.

Lake Avenue will be blocked off at Superior Street. Access to Canal Park, Park Point, and the DECC will be down 5th Ave W to the connector to Railroad Street, and from the freeway exits onto South Lake Ave.

Downtown traffic should return to normal by approximately 11:30 am, just in time to sit down to that much deserved Thanksgiving meal.
