Have you ever thought of what you would eat if you knew it was going to be your last meal?  I think I probably would go out with a nice thick porterhouse steak, covered with onions and mushrooms, served with green beens and fried potatoes.

Lawrence Russell Brewer was a little more difficult to please.  He was convicted and sentenced to death for the hate crime of dragging a man to death, and when it came to his last meal, you won't believe what he requested.

The controversy began after Lawrence Russell Brewer, who was executed on Wednesday for the hate crime slaying of James Byrd Jr. more than a decade ago, asked for two chicken fried steaks, a triple-meat bacon cheeseburger, fried okra, a pound of barbecue, three fajitas, a meat lover's pizza, a pint of ice cream and a slab of peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts. Prison officials said Brewer didn't eat any of it.

Seriously who could even eat all of that?  Apparently they had to give him what he wanted.  Also, what is the point of eating something before you die?  Especially that much.  And warning, getting a little gross here... but is it true that your body loses all functions after you die?  Do we really want that mess?

Now last meals will be whatever the kitchen is cooking for the other guys.  Let's hope it's not liver and onion night - 0r maybe we should.
