BAM! We got hit with a blizzard in the Northland, then this week-end, it's been snowing on and off for the last 48 hours!!!  The snow is piling up and we are out of practice with what to do with it.  The Duluth Police Department has some suggestions on what to do, to make snow removal easier.  Plus, it's a great reminder about alternate side parking.

The Duluth Police Department reminds citizens that parking rules are still in effect. For those

areas with alternate side parking, the change over period runs from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, every

Sunday. For this week, residents must move their vehicles to the ODD side of the street. Please

be diligent and move vehicles to help snow plow operators expedite their work.

Plow operators are doing their best to clear streets but significant snowfall and parked cars

create difficulties for plow trucks and graders to maneuver through some residential streets.

Plow operators are out clearing streets and alleys  and hope to finish the even side streets

by Monday.

People who park on the street should be extra diligent to follow these ordinances; no closer than

7 feet to alleys or driveways, must park within 12 inches of the curb and parking or partially

blocking driving lanes will result in a ticket and the car will be towed.

Please also keep sidewalks clear to allow for safe pedestrian passage.
