A project to replace wire ropes that raise and lower Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge is set to start next Monday, February 1.  Here's the specifics for those that travel that route.

The project will take about a month with crews working Mondays through Saturdays from 7 AM to 5:30 PM.  They will need to restrict the Lift Bridge to one-lane, two-way vehicular traffic during the project period. Watch for traffic signals that will be placed at each end of the Lift Bridge to keep traffic flowing through the single lane. The lane closure will shift between each side of the Bridge and appropriate traffic control signs and barricades will be in place to alert drivers.   You may also experience short 15minute or less traffic closures.  Those are needed to lift materials being used over the roadway or when loading in or out of the work area.

Of course, as always, the City of Duluth thanks you for your patience and requests that you consider this construction when you are estimating your travel time to your destination.
