If you were on the fence on whether to run the William A. Irvin 5k or not, your decision just got a lot easier.  However, there are other running options.

Grandmas Marathon announced that registration for the 20th annual William A. Irvin 5K is now closed with the race reaching its field capacity today, Grandma’s Marathon announced.  The 3.1-mile race, scheduled for Friday, June 21 at 6 p.m., accepted the first 1,900 registrants.

The William A. Irvin 5K starts and finishes alongside the permanently docked William A. Irvin ore boat near the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

While registration is also closed for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, spots remain available for the 37th running of Grandma’s Marathon. Registration for the full marathon will close June 1. Both races are set for Saturday, June 22, as is the USA Half Marathon Championships, which will be hosted in Duluth for the second straight year.   There also spots available for the Park Point 5 Miler later in the summer.
