If you're looking to participate in and of the 41st Grandma’s Marathon Weekend races, which include Grandma’s Marathon, the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and William A. Irvin 5K, get ready to register beginning Saturday.

Grandma's Marathon says registration will open at 10 a.m. on October 1, 2016. This is the second year that registration for all three races will open on the same day.

Entries for Grandma’s Marathon will be taken on a first come, first serve basis until the race reaches 9,000 participants. Those who register to run the 26.2-mile race before December 31 will receive a commemorative quarter zip jacket free of charge. After December 31, runners will have the option to purchase the jacket at a discounted price.

The entry process for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is conducted through a lottery in which 7,000 participants will be randomly selected. Half-marathon hopefuls can submit their registration for the lottery anytime between October 1 and October 31. The drawing will be conducted during the first week of November, and selected participants will be notified via email.

The William A. Irvin 5K is limited to the first 2,000 participants. The 3.1-mile racecourse features a tour through Canal Park and all finishers will be awarded a medal and finisher shirt.

You can also register for the Great Grandma's Challenge, which pairs the 5K with either the full or half marathon. Registration for the Great Grandma’s Challenge is limited to the first 500 individuals for each race.
