Register Your Bike To Prevent Theft

In the Fall people are using their bikes less and being less careful when storing them.

Bicycles go missing very frequently. The Duluth Police are often responding to reports of bike thefts or abandoned bikes. You may want to register it under a new bike registration program to help DPD identify and return missing bikes to their rightful owners.

Thieves have ways of getting away with the crime when you don't have proof the bike is yours. When you spot a bike that is yours, call the authorities and with the information you have provided they can prove the bike is yours and have it returned.

According to the registrations site, registering your bike is easy and free. It may help you or your children to get the bike returned. Just provide your contact information, bicycle serial number (located on the bottom of the crankshaft or on the fork supporting the handlebars), and other basic information. You only need to register once unless you need to update contact information or bicycle details.
