Even though the forecast calls for a wintry mix or rain on Saturday, don't let that change your family plans to attend the Lake Superior Zoo's EGG-stravaganza.  They are prepared for Mother Nature.

Hop on down to the zoo anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturday. Accommodations for the forecasted weather conditions have been made, allowing for the majority of the games and fun to be held indoors.

The Easter Bunny will be meeting visitors and posing for pictures just inside the zoo’s main entrance.

The Cotton Tail Cotton Candy Walk, poetry and puppets with author Alyce Orr, special animal encounters, caricature artist, coloring contest and more will be held in the lower level of the main building.

The newly renovated three-season pavilion will be used for the first time on Saturday.  Guests are invited to enjoy numerous kid’s games, fun music and face painting.

Egg hunting will be held outside, with a special Toddler’s Only area closest to the zoo’s main building.  Older children will enjoy searching the zoo’s grounds for eggs in designated areas throughout the zoo.  All kids will receive a bag filled with goodies.

The “EGG-stra” special animal enrichment schedule for this special event will be:

10:30 Lemurs
11:00 Lions
11:30 Parrots
12:00 Bears
1:00   Griggs Learning Center Animals
1:30   Amur Tiger

Guests should dress for the weather and ground conditions and bring an egg collecting basket with them.  Admission rates are $5 for children ages 3-12, $10 for ages 13 and up.  Members are free.
