So, first let's look at the big picture.  There are several country artists/groups that have included some form of rap in their country music.  For example, Luke Bryan and Kick The Dust Up or Florida Georgia Line with This Is How We Roll to name a couple.  But, to hear that Flo Rida, the rapper, has debuted a song with a touch of country, is still surprising to me.

Don't get me wrong, we've seen country artists cross over to other genres and have welcomed those that crossed over to country.  Like Darius Rucker, who use to be in Hootie and the Blowfish.  Still, listening to Flo Rida's new song still didn't quite have that country appea, maybe it's the lyrics of the song.  You can add instruments that are typically used with country songs, but if the lyrics don't jive with the country vibe, I'm not sure if it will be well received.  However, you do have to give Flo Rida kudos, he is constantly trying new things and reinventing.  In today's world, unless you keep things fresh, people tend to move on to the next thing.  I like all kinds of music styles so I'm ok with it, what do you think?
