For those of you who frequent the downtown Duluth area, there is a closure of a major thoroughfare starting this Saturday that you should be aware of to avoid frustration when you travel.

The City of Duluth is planning on temporarily closing Michigan Street in downtown Duluth starting this Saturday, February 28.   The closure will begin at the intersection of 3rd Avenue West at Michigan Street and include the entire block of Michigan Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues West.  They will be closed from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM to accommodate heavy equipment they're bringing in that will be used to make repairs to existing signage and to install a new sign on the Wells Fargo building. This won't affect your travel for long, the City hopes to open at least the intersection at 3rd Ave West by Noon, depending on progress of the project.
