The Polar Bear Plunge is upon us and while I think we all agree that raising money for the Special Olympics is a great thing to do, many people are very wary of plunging into cold Lake Superior. I totally understand, but there is another way you can help the cause and I'd love for you to join me Saturday morning to do just that.

The Polar Plunge 5K is also on Saturday, February 20.  It's a casual event, so take your time and enjoy the beautiful course along the Lakewalk.  The Polar Plunge 5K begins at 9am on the Lakewalk, just behind the Canal Park Lodge. The cost is $30, or more if you can raise additional money, and you'll get a shirt for your effort.

If you haven't registered yet, you can do so today between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Grandmas Sports Garden in Canal Park or Saturday morning behind the Canal Park Lodge.  There are currently 131 runners registered and I think it would be terrific if we could get to 200 runners.

This is my first year participating and I'd love to see you Saturday morning.  We can get through the 5K and then grab a Bloody Mary or Tequila Sunrise.

Remember, the Polar Bear Plunge begins later Saturday at 2pm and you can watch all the action on our video stream by following the link below.
