Playboy Claims Paul Bunyan is Most Popular Fictional Character From Maine On New Map

I saw this being shared on Facebook today and I immediately scanned over to see Charlie Brown was the most popular fictional character from Minnesota. Then, Michael Kelso from that 70's show was Wisconsin's most popular. Imagine my surprise though when I looked to the east and saw Paul Bunyan from Maine. Seriously? Last I checked we had him standing with his axe in Bemidji! It turns out other states have claimed him as there own as well. Who knew?

It appears that Bangor Maine does have a statue of Paul Bunyan. Also Michigan has claimed him as there own as well. I grew up thinking Paul Bunyan was a Minnesota only thing, and I'm going to still claim him as our own.
