This year looks pretty good for the runners/walkers of Grandma's Marathon Park Point 5 Miler.  Not too hot, and no rain!!!  Are you up for the challenge?  You can still register the day of the race....get together with friends and get some exercise while you help out the Young Athlete's Foundation!

The 40th running of the Park Point 5-Miler is Friday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. on Duluth’s Park Point. A 2-mile walk and free kids races for those 14 & under are also part of the event. The entry fee for the run and walk is $25 with all net proceeds benefiting the Young Athletes Foundation. Come join the fun and festivities on Friday evening.  Click here for more information.

The Park Point 5 Miler race will begin on Minnesota Avenue near Sky Harbor Airport. Runners will come north on the roadway to the turnaround near 24th Street and back.  Motorists wanting to enter Park Point will be stopped at 24th Street and those already at the Park will be held there beginning at 6:00 p.m. for approximately 60 minutes. Motorists wishing to come to and from Park Point should anticipate this delay and plan accordingly. Motorists should also be alert to runners in the roadway and officers directing traffic near 24th and the Park Point Recreation area.

Good luck to all the runners/walkers and a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers!!!  Enjoy! (and drink lots of water)!
