Ok, first thing I want to tell you is that the Pampered Chef simple slicer is an amazing product.  It works great, slices wonderfully, and now that I know how to use it, I'll probably use it every time.  Unfortunately, I didn't know how to use it the first time and took a chunk out of my thumb.

Once again, in no way is this Pampered Chef's fault.   See, my wife bought this kitchen gadget a while ago, and I had never seen it used.   When I needed to slice an onion I grabbed the slicer and took the onion with my hand and started slicing.   "Wow this slices easy! Boy I better be careful I don't cut my-- Dammit!"

Then, halfway through dinner my thumb started gushing blood.  I quick grabbed a bandaid and put it on, and cleaned up my hands...

Moments later as I went to grabbed sliced cheese, i noticed I had bled all over the package.   3 gauze packets later and a bunch of tape, I finally was able to finish the meal.

As I went to put the slicer away, I noticed a "food holder" handle in the drawer.   On it it reads "Always Use Food Handle When Slicing."

Now they tell me.

Either way, if used properly it another wonderful product from Pampered Chef.
