Outdoor Enthusiasts: You’re Invited to an FREE Evening with Sam Cook Exploring Our Northland’s Great Outdoors
You’re invited to attend the Parks and Recreation Commission’s annual meeting on Wednesday, April 2nd beginning at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet located at 8551 Grand Avenue. The evening will feature author Sam Cook!
Sam Cook has been covering the great outdoors for the Duluth News Tribune for nearly 30 years and he’s authored six books. His stories have gained him an impressive amount of awards. You may have read some of his stories range from the abundantly impressive Steger International Polar Expedition in 1986, to an ordinary tale of paddling the Brule.
Expect to be taken on a verbal tour of Duluth’s great outdoors, with Sam sharing spectacular adventures here in your own backyard. So many places to see, things to do and so little time..be a part of an “Evening with Sam Cook”.
Immediately following Sam Cook’s talk, the Parks and Recreation Commissioners and City Staff members will share what progress has been made and what is being planned for 2014. Again, valuable information for the Northland outdoor enthusiast.
This event is FREE. For more information call the Parks and Recreation office at 218-730-4300.
