NHL Stadium Series Comes to Minnesota This Weekend; Win Tickets Here
This weekend it will be outdoor hockey at TCF Bank Stadium as the Minnesota Wild host the Chicago Blackhawks. Saturday is the alumni game, then the main event happens Sunday. This is part of the NHL Stadium series, which is such a fun way to watch a hockey game. The best part? If you're going to the game, make sure you have these items:
- Hand and foot warmers. The forecast is currently calling for temps around 40, but mostly cloudy with snow or rain showers. I know from experience that standing outside in those conditions can get cold, especially when drinking beer. Get some hand and foot warmers to stay warm, they are inexpensive and are widely available.
- Sunglasses. I know I just said the weather is calling for mostly cloudy skies, but having sunglasses is still the way to go. It will prevent you from squinting and if the rain or snow occurs they will add further protection.
- Hotel reservations. I am so over driving down to a game or event in Minneapolis only to turn around and come right back the same night. I want to have a few beers, absorb the atmosphere and not worry about sitting in a parking ramp for 2 hours afterward just to leave. If you win the tickets, splurge on a hotel room and make a night of it. I highly suggest The Commons hotel as it is within walking distance from TCF Bank Stadium and it has a pretty cool hotel bar for pre or post game fun. At the very least, Priceline a room down there and then Uber to the game.
It should be a lot of fun Sunday, with both teams wearing special uniforms for the game, and two teams who aren't exactly the best of friends.
