Since there are SO many different construction projects going on around the Northland, I thought I would combine them for an easy one stop to ease your frustration and make getting around a little easier.

Reconstruction of the Parking lot in Canal Park continues

The City of Duluth will be reconstructing the parking lot adjacent to the Canal Park Lodge and the Endion Depot. The work began July 9, 2012 and is expected to be completed by July 20, 2012. During this time the parking lot and adjacent sidewalk will be closed. No parking will be permitted and access to the Lakewalk at this location will be unavailable.

Section of Crosley Ave to close for utility repairs

Crosley Avenue in the Lakeside neighborhood will be closed between Glenwood Street and 47th  Avenue East all day Friday, July 13, 2012 for water main repairs. Motorists should detour around the work area using Glenwood Street or 47th Avenue East. Residents can still access their homes on Crosley Avenue from 47th Avenue East.

 

Grand Ave (between 45th and 47th Ave West) to undergo utility work

Grand Avenue will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between 45th Avenue West and 47th Avenue West starting Monday, July 16, 2012. Crews will be doing utility work for the CVS Pharmacy on Grand Avenue and 46th Avenue West.  The work will take approximately one week. This construction will cause traffic delays. Motorists are requested to use caution when driving in the work area and to consider alternate routes.

 

Section of West First Street to close for utility work

Starting Monday, July 16, 2012, West 1st Street will be closed between Glen Place Drive and 11th Avenue West. In addition, 11th Avenue West will be closed between West 1st Street and West 2nd Street. The closure will last one week and is necessary for crews to relocate a gas main.

 

Concrete rehabilitation along 21st Ave East to start July 18

The City of Duluth will be starting concrete pavement rehabilitation along 21st Ave East, from London Road up to Superior Street, starting Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Street preservation is a priority for the City and the completed project will ensure safer smoother roads for all users. The project will require traffic detours. Access to residents and local businesses will be maintained. The project is scheduled to be completed this summer.
