Oscar nominations came out Thursday morning, with films like 'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave' leading the way. You can probably bet that none of this weekend's new releases will figure into next year's Oscars, but that doesn't mean there won't be something you like. The four films opening wide on Friday cover a wide range of genres and styles, a little something for everyone.

'Devil's Due'

In this horror tale, a pregnant woman starts behaving very strangely, and it may well be that the child she is carrying is of a dark, supernatural origin. (No matter how well the movie does, it'll always be remembered for the "demon baby prank.")

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett

Starring Allison Miller, Zach Gilford, Sam Anderson, Roger Payano

'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit'

Sort of a Jack Ryan origin story, this film marks the return of the Tom Clancy-created CIA analyst, in the story of how he got his start at the CIA and the first (of many) major global threat he helped stop.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh

Starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner, Kenneth Branagh

'The Nut Job'

One for the kids, this animated adventure tells the story of two friends, a squirrel and a rat, and how their ingenious plan to steal nuts goes awry.

Directed by Peter Lepeniotis

Starring Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl

'Ride Along'

Ben wants to marry his girlfriend, Angela, but first he must get the blessing of her brother, James, a tough-minded Atlanta cop who takes Ben along in his car for one day on the streets to see how tough Ben really is.

Directed by Tim Story

Starring Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, Tika Sumpter, John Leguizamo
