Named for master brewer and owner Dave Hoops, Hoops Brewing is making a home of the old Timberlodge Steakhouse location, next to Red Lobster.

Hoops is a 6-time Great American Beer Festival Award winner and has led the brewing efforts a brewery in California, as well as nearly 20 years as the master brewer at Fitger's Brewhouse in Duluth.

According to posts on the brewery's Facebook page, demolition and reconstruction on the old Timberlodge location in the fall of 2016. The Growler's profile of the business describes the 9,000-square-foot location as one that "emphasizes the natural beauty of the building’s existing woodwork."
