Do you or someone you know drive an electric car?  If so, you'll appreciate a new construction project about to begin in Canal Park in Duluth.

The City of Duluth has announced that construction is set to begin on a new 9-car electric car charging station.  According to their press release, Minnesota Power, Enbridge and Hunt Electric partnered to donate and install the $377,000 solar panel charging station in the parking lot by the former Endion Station building in Canal Park.

The project helps with the City of Duluth's energy initiatives and enables the City to tap into renewable energy credits.

The new charging station is anticipated to be complete by May 2017 and will be maintained by the City of Duluth, just as they maintain the charging station located in the Duluth Depot parking lot.
