As we get ready for the Keith Urban show coming to Amsoil Arena, I thought I'd share 5 of my favorite Urban songs.  Most of these weren't radio hits, and you most likely won't hear a majority in concert, but they are songs definitely worth a listen.

'Til Summer Comes Around

Who hasn't had a summer fling in their life?  I love the story of this song and the syncopation in the arrangement.  Also, Keith has done this song in concerts and when he does perform it, audiences are treated to a great, extended, soulful guitar solo.  The same can be said for "Stupid Boy", which I also like a lot.

Song For Dad

Keith Urban wrote this song and although it isn't an exact match for my relationship with my dad, I love the story of reflection this song tells.  I think a lot of people hit a certain point in their lives where they reflect back on their relationship with with their parents and hopefully appreciate it.

Nobody Drinks Alone

What can I say, I connect with songs that deal with people battling demons and Keith Urban has overcome his fair share of battles over the years.  I loved this song the first time I heard it and it remains a fave.

Somewhere In My Car

This is the biggest hit on the list, but it has some great guitar work and it features something I tend to be drawn to: up-tempo songs that have somewhat depressing lyrics.  Perhaps, like Gary Allan, I get off on the pain.  This is just a very well produced tune that can take on a whole new life in concert.

You're My Better Half

How about a nice love song?  Even before Keith married Nicole he wasn't afraid to sing a good one.  I've always loved this song, and it was featured prominently on my wedding CD and video so I have to include it on this list.

 Bonus Song: Wasted Time

Every good album has a bonus track, right? I thought I'd include Keith's latest big hit.  While it has yet to prove it will stand the test of time with me, it's a big, catchy song that I liked from the first listen.  Also, as a man who thoroughly enjoyed wasting time while growing up and still enjoys it now as an adult, it's refreshing to hear someone appreciate how important the activity can be.  This should be great moment in his concert at Amsoil Arena.
