A big complaint from deer hunters over the years is the deer management and regulations during hunting season.  Sometimes we feel that the DNR doesn't know the deer numbers in our specific areas as good as we do.  The MN DNR is now implementing the Minnesota Draft Deer Management Plan.

The goal of the plan is to get more citizen involvement in the population management, and outline ways to keep the heard happy.  This is a great chance to get your voice heard as they will be taking comments at these meetings through May 9th.

The nearest meeting to Duluth is actually in Cloquet.  That will take place on April 25th at the Carlton County Transportation and Tax Forfeit Land Department Building at 1630 County RD 61.

You can find other locations and a more detailed outline to the MN Department of Natural Resources Draft Deer Management plan at their website, along with statistics from previous years.
