Miranda Lambert Blasts Tabloid Claims About Weight Loss Surgery

Miranda Lambert wants her fans to know she lost weight the old-fashioned way. Healthy eating and exercise were the keys to making her skinny jeans baggy, not weight loss surgery.

The singer was emphatic about this point in an open letter to her fans.

Lambert posted the missive at her official website. “I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight,” she says. “That is ridiculous. I lost my weight the healthy and good old fashioned way.”

Trainer Bill Crutchfield helped the ‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ hitmaker drop a dress size. She’s not even certain how much weight she lost. “Like I have always said, it’s not about a scale, it’s about how you feel and how your jeans fit,” Lambert shares.

“So for anyone who is tempted to read the Trash Talk please don’t,” she adds. “I am proud to be a normal size girl and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size. Thanks for the support y’all!”

It’s not really clear which tabloid was reporting Lambert had weight loss surgery. Since she first stepped out to show off her trim figure, fan and media response has been overwhelmingly positive. The singer shared her not-so-secret secret early, adding that she was pleasantly surprised people were noticing.

The 30-year-old and her husband Blake Shelton have become a favorite for grocery store rags, however. Each week, unidentified sources claim the pair is breaking up or that he is cheating on her. Both have taken joy in dispelling or poking fun at those rumors, but this one seems to have rubbed the ‘All Kinds of Kinds’ singer the wrong way.
