Miranda Lambert Tops the Charts With Personal and Moving Tune ‘Over You’

Miranda Lambert scored her fourth career No. 1 single this week with her latest hit, ‘Over You.’ Lambert penned the emotional tune with her superstar husband, Blake Shelton. The song hit extremely close to home for the couple, as the lyrical content was written around Shelton losing his brother in a fatal car accident when he was a teen.

Shelton was one of the first to congratulate Lambert on the new chart-topper over the weekend. “Never been more proud of any accomplishment … Congrats baby … And thank you,” he tweeted.

Both ‘Over You’ and the album the tune is found on, ‘Four the Record,’ have been certified gold for sales exceeding 500,000 copies sold.

“I think the key is [Blake and I] sort of pick and choose what we want to do together as artists because we don’t ever want the business to get in the way of our personal relationship,” notes Lambert of the special co-write. “So when we write together, we kind of step away from being husband and wife, and we just become artists that respect each other. And it’s a really good relationship, and I think doing that every now and then and keeping it special is what makes it work.”

Trailing behind Lambert on the charts this week are Jason Aldean with ‘Fly Over States,’ Zac Brown Band‘s ‘No Hurry’ and Kip Moore‘s ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck.’
