The NFL will officially release the 2017 season schedule later this evening, but the early word is that the Minnesota Vikings will open the upcoming season on Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints.

ESPN's Ben Goessling is reporting that the Vikings and Saints will play the nationally televised game at U.S. Bank Stadium.  This will be the first time the Vikings have opened the season at home since 2012.

There have been rumors that the Saints were interested in signing Adrian Peterson.  This game will really be must-see battle if that plays out.
