Minnesota Twins Rally From 6-Run Deficit To Win First Series Of The Year
Now this is more like it! Gardy has said the Twins just need to start swinging the bats. The Minnesota Twins trailed 6-0 before their bats woke to rally past the Angels 10-9. The Twins pounded out 20 hits, including home runs from Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Josh Willingham to overcome a shaky start from Francisco Liriano. Matt Capps made it interesting by giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th but got the final out with the tying run stranded at second base. The Twins have improved to 2-4 with the powerful Texas Rangers coming to Target Field this weekend for a 3 game series.
This is a Twins team with a lot of new players, a lot of wacky personalities and a brutal schedule to open the season. If they can fight through it and get their pitching on track, this team could gel into a fun bunch to watch. You just don't want that to take too long so hopefully they can ride this momentum and win a couple series in a row. How many games do you think the Twins will win this year?
