The holiday season will be here before we know it and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources wants to make sure that outdoor activity is a part of your Thanksgiving weekend plans with another 'Free Park Friday'.

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Tina Smith announced that 'Free Park Friday' will be held across the state on Friday, November 25.  That means entry fees at all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas will be waived for the day.

According to the DNR, this year marks the 125th anniversary of the Minnesota state parks and trails system and the celebration has brought record crowds out to explore Minnesota’s state parks.

Minnesota state parks are open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and feature more than 1,000 miles of hiking trails through the state’s hardwoods, prairies and pinelands.
