Minnesota’s firearms deer season begins Saturday morning and Department of Natural Resources say it should be a conservative season, with hunters harvesting about 120-thousand deer, which would be lowest the harvest in decades.

Below you'll hear DNR’s big game program leader Leslie McInenly sharing some great reminders, as safety must be the top priority for each hunter.

McInenly added that the top three violations during deer season are hunting over bait, transporting a loaded or uncased firearm and failing to validate a deer tag.

Good luck out there this season, and look out for each other.
