The Minnesota DNR has found that many veterans covet a job in a natural resources environment because many military skills are a great fit for DNR positions.  With that in mind, they will be hosting an employee seminar for military veterans.

The free seminar is scheduled for January 3 at the DNR headquarters on Lafayette Road North in St. Paul.  Space is limited so registration is required.

According to the DNR, veterans in attendance will have the opportunity to talk to DNR staff who work in the areas of logistics, fisheries and wildlife, informational technology, GIS and mapping, forestry, operations, communications, safety, real estate forestry, enforcement, human resources, engineering and landscape architecture and more.

Veterans will also be on hand to answer questions about how to successfully juggle military – civilian commitments. Information on DNR veteran support resources will also be available.

Taking it a step further, there will also be human resources staff on hand to provide instructions on how to search and apply for Minnesota DNR jobs.
