Recently I shared that the Minnesota DNR was having a contest for artists to design the new trout and salmon stamp.  I thought I had designed a stamp that couldn't possibly be beat.  It turns out I was wrong.

The Minnesota DNR has announced that Stillwater artist Nicholas Markell has won their stamp design contest with a  painting of a brook trout. The painting was selected by judges from among 14 submissions for the annual contest.  This is the second time that Nicholas has won this contest, having previously won in 2012.

While I thought I had won with my design below, I guess his design above is okay.  My guess is they ultimately had to flip a coin.

How did I NOT win?!
