The opening day for the deer archery season begins Saturday, September 13th!  Deer population is much lower this year in many parts of the state, so be sure to check your regulation handbook.  One big change this year is the amount of "Bucks only Harvest Areas."

In those areas, only 1 buck can be harvested no matter what weapon was used.  For example, if you get a buck with your bow, you can't tag one for rifle season.

Of course the first year I prepare for archery season, we are in a buck's only area.  It's just my luck, but oh well.  I'll be getting out in the woods anyway.

Wish me luck!
