Something that Mayor Don Ness was known for was always listening. He would meet with the public often to hear ideas. Mayor Emily Larson and City Councilor Barb Russ will continue the open door policy and invite the public to attend "City Hall in the City," on October 18, 2016.According to a press release from the city of Duluth, this will be one of a series of community listening sessions focused on providing residents with the chance to share ideas, concerns, and needs with the Mayor and a Councilor. Attendees will get a chance to meet individually with the Mayor or Councilor Russ, with other City staff or express their issues in writing. This will not be conducted like a forum, but rather a way for people to share one on one.

The upcoming City Hall in the City session will take place on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 5:30 pm in the Harrison Community Center, 3002 West Third Street.

All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend. In addition, Mayor Larson will have art supplies for children to share their own ideas for the City. Drawings collected from the meeting will be hung in the Mayor’s office and shared with Councilor Russ.

If you miss this meeting, Mayor Larson will hold another session this time with City Councilor Joel Sipress, November 30 at Pilgrim Congregational Church.
